Ceratosaurus dentisulcatus

Ceratosaurus dentisulcatus is the second biggest species of Ceratosaurus after the (uncertain) african species C.ingens. C. dentisulcatus was up to 8,8 metres long. Ceratosaurus is one of the best known theropods of the jurassic and lived together with the bigger Allosaurus. Ceratosaurus had huge teeth for a theropod that size, in some individuals,they are bigger than the lower jaw is high! Ceratosaurus means horn lizard because of its nasal horn. The horn of C.dentisulcatus wasnt found so its shape is unknown. Ceratosaurus probably lived in packs and was one of the most succesful predators of its time. The Abelisaurids which were very succesful in the late cretaceous, are descendants of the ceratosaurids.
