Shadow Dragon

The Shadow dragon (Umbradraco australis) is one of the most mysterious species of Dragons. Australia is home to a variety of very strange dragons, including the marsupial dragon. This beast here is one of the most unusual. Not much is known of it due to its elusiveness. The shadow Dragon belongs to a small group of dragons that hasnt been formerly described yet and consists of 3 dragons: The shadow dragon, the smoke dragon and the very rare demon dragon.Scientists  are unsure how to classify these dragons. They show signs of Wyvernidae including the body plan with 2 legs and 2 wings but all have rather blunt skulls compared to wyvernids with their long skulls. Very few tudy this dragon because first of all it is very dangerous and with an estimted length of 12.13 metres also a rather big dragon. The other reason why it is studied so rarely is because it is almost impossible to do so beause it engulfes itself in a jacket of thick black smoke that this dragon emits almost constantly. This is also the reason for its name. Instead of fire this dragon emits hot smoke to trap theri victims and burn their skin. These dragons are not very comon but often cause bushfires in Australia . It is able to  engulf a whole village in smoke in mere seconds. It is a quite fast flyer but usually travels inside  his smoke cloud and thus its body is rarely seen. Its eyes are red and it is a sight hunter . It is known that it is able to see the body heat of animals that are trapped in the smoke but sometimes this dragon also wait until the victim is dead because of suffocating on the smoke. The long teeth are perfect for impaling a prey item and deliver the final blow. How this dragon produces the thick smoke is completely unknown.  native autralians feared this dragon  as it would sometime sattack their villages.  This dragon seems to only feed on mammals which suggests that this group of dragons developed after the age of the dinosaurs when mammals began to rise. This dragon is most oftenly seen travelling over the large desert and  grass areas of  australia hunting marsupials like kangaroos  and other large waem blooded animals. It is thought that this dragon spends the night in large caves.  native australians  believd this dragon was the son of a volcano . this might be explained by the fact that this dragon is found near maountains wher it rest in caves.  This dragon is only active during the day.
