Description

This here is by far the worst model I ever had to built! It is that 109 kit I told you in earlier reviews of. Now finally I can review this abomination.I wont do any historical part in this review, I wanna concedntratre only about the model kit review this time, cause it had to be known that this kit is f*ckin horrible!
Detail: first lets start with the detail: The detail is horrible, it really is. The cockpit has no detail because their is no cockpit! There only is a seat with a pilot figure. There is NO additional cockpit or interior detail. Then we have the main landing gear detail- its just as bad. The wheels dont even look historically accurate- they look nothing like the original and ther is no interior detail in the landing gear. To top it all over, we have those "screw lines" which means that instead of the fine gravures for example on the flaps, we just have those screws and rivets. Thats just horrible detail. Its now over 2 years that I built had built thsi kt and I still cant get over the bad detail. Sorry but I have to give zero points for detail!
Fitting: The fitting is just as horrible. While the wings and fuselage fit good, there is ome BIG issue and you can clearly see which one: The canopy . It consists of 3 vrather unclear parts. And these leave a huge gap when assembled on the fuselage as you can see. At first i thought that was my fault cause I did something wrong with the assembly, but no, I actually have this kit 2 times and in both there is this gap. It is the biggest gap I´ve ever expereinced in a 1/72 kit. I give
* for fitting.
Functions: The fucntions are good, we have a spinable prop and moving wheels.
This is probably the only part where this kit scores
*****
Decals. Even the decals suffer from the poor quality. They are not as good as the usual decals from revell. They are somewhat thinner and broke more easy than usual as far as I remmeber. They also werent as detailed.
***
Extrapoits. I was very very diappointed by this kit. Therefore it was very cheap, only 4,99€ but even that is too much for such a flawed kit. The only positive thin about this kit are itsfunctions but the rest is beneath contempt. I give 0 extrapoints because this kit is just horrible.

Fazit: It is by far the worst kit I´ve built so far and hopefullyit will remain the worst necause I cant imagine anything worse than that. It is just horrible and I was really shocked by the poor quality of this 109 . Despite the fact that the 109 and the ta 152 are my favourite german propeller aircraft and also one of my favourite planes of all time, this doesnt help that the kit is bad-really bad. I advise you: DO NOT BUY IT!!! you will be diappointed.
I give
*

Note. The suggested colour scheme was different than shown here. At the time I built this I was still experimenting with colour schemes and as this kit was so bad I used it as a platform for some experiments with colour schemes.

Note2: The 2 holes on the bottom were made to display the kit on a stand(yeah, this kit was on a stand from airfix in the cupboarsd where it stands where it hunted a mosquito.I drilled the holes in to display the kit.

Note3: I am planning to do a youtube review on this kit as soon as I have a good camera. I am planning to do some sort of an angry model kit review(yeah, avgn inspired me ). Tell me what you think of that idea. Maybe I will do more than that, maybe even a whole youtube seriesbut I am not sure yet.

The current Revell kit is the umpteenth reissue of the vintage (1960s!) Monogram kit, and together with a whole host of other Revell kits that are reissued from time to time (P-51D Mustang, Hawker Hurricane I, Supermarine Spitfire II, Focke Wulf Fw 190A-4, Mitsubishi A6M-5 Zero, P-36 Hawk,...) they are among the worst detailled kits that are still available - even at the time, marques such as FROG and Airfix often offered better kits. Honestly, I wonder why Revell even bothers reissuing them, as they really drag down the name of their brand, especially given that for all of these kits there are infinitely superior alternatives available.

I was even more surprised to see this kit reissued in the same year Airfix issued what should be the definitive Bf 109E-4 in this scale. Really, Revell seems to be losing its direction on some fronts...
