Ok before anyone is confused, yes , this version of dilophosaurus is acually canonical, it is the novel Dilophosaurus.
Name: Dilophosaurus wetherilli
Lengh: up to 6 metres
time: early jurassic
Aggressiveness: 99%-EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE!
Dngerousness: 100 %-EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!
Dilophosaurus is a dinosaur that was cloned early by inGen scientists. However thexy firs came across an unknown species, D.venenifer, a much smaller frilled dilophosaurus. It wasnt until one year later, that they found the dna of the " common" dilophosaurus species, D.wetherilli. This dilophosaurus not only looks much different from its smaller counterpart, it is also much bigger, reaching 6 metres while the smaller d. venenifer reaches only 5 feet. Dilophosaurus is coloured yellow with dar brown spots all over his body. The distinctive double crests are brightly coloured and are more brightly coloured in males, which are also bigger. The animal is a very fast runner and it is a very skilled hunter. Living solitary or sometimes in small groups, dilophosaurus isn very terrritorial. Its huge teeth are ideal for cutting through mea and although meat is its prime food source, it was also reported by inGen scientists that these animals also eat fish. Not only is this animal fas and has a vicious bite, its also extremely aggressive and poisonous! Just like D. venenifer, D.wetherilli is able to spit a thick black toxic fluid precisely into the eyes of its prey, up to a distance of 4 metres. The venom gland sits under its tongue and the poison is emitted through a "hole" that sits on top of the rear area of the tongue. This poison is powerful enough to blind prey for a long time, time for the predator to finish off he prey. It is very difficul to control these animals because of their spitting behaviour and several kepers were temporarily blinded by spitter attacks. However "only" 4 people died at the hands of all dilophosaurus species together(one of these victimswas dennis nedrey). While the big dilophosaurus was not present yet in the first park, the smalller species already was. In the wild, dilophosaurus lives only on Isla Sorna and prefers the savannah like areas where it camouflages wih the high grass. Its biggest "enemy" is ceratosaurus which is about the same size and has a much more stronger bite. Raptor usually stay away from dilophosaurus and packs of raptor normally stay away from the hunting grounds of dilophosaurus. Dilophosaurus communicates with a vareity of saounds with other dilophosaurus. If attacked by a dilophosaurus , it is best to protect the eyes and flee as fast as possible. Keepers treid to spend as few time as possible in dilophosaurus paddocks . For the new park, dilophosaurus is set to be included and special care was taken for them as their whole paddock is covered at the sides with plexiglass to protect the visitors. Keepers found out that this animal can get quite calm when feeded and it usually lies in the shadows when its has finished its meal to take a nap. In the wild they seem to prefer the hotter areas . Sometimes, these animals can be seen hunting along the coasts for dead fish . Females lay up to five eggs and only mate during summer.
