Description

and here is the long awaited continuation of the always  popular JP expanded series. This is actually a remake of baryonyx, I did him earlier, but the pic was just so bad that I just had to do another one to replace the old one (as will be the case with many of the older jp expanded pics.). to make everything more canonical, I based my colour scheme on the one from the jp toy lineimg2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20…
Its not exactly the same but the black stripes were a bit difficult to do so I left them out, see it as some kind of individual variation between the individuals of baryonyx :P.
The posture is partially  based on  thisimg2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20…

Name: Baryonyx walkeri
Codneame: " snapper"
Lenght: up to 9 metres
Time: early cretaceous
:Agressiveness: 60 % AGGRESSIVE!-approach cautiously
Dangerousness: 90% VERY DANGEROUS!!!

baryonyx is a pretty old dinosaur on the inGen dinosaur lost and was cloned at the time when the firt park opened.
Baryonyx is a 9 meter long carnivore with a crocodile like jaw and among keepers was known by its nickname"the croc". Its a semi aquatic hunter and keepers usually werent very happy when ordered to venture in the baryonyx enclosure because the animal is very stealthy in water and attacks very fast and violently. While not very aggressive for theropod standards, it still is a big and dangerous theropod and the long claws and fearsome teeth can cause serious injuries and a more then enough to kill a human. Baryonyx males are brightfully coloured with a red head and a body in different green tones. Some males have black stripes that run along the back and on the sides of the animal. Baryonyx is a fish eater although it wont deny meat if the opportunity  is there and fish isnt available in great numbers, it also been said that it scavenges a lot. Baryonyx mostly hunts from the shores or from the water. Unlike spinosaurus which is known to also venture into the ocean sometimes, Baryonyx is almsot exclusevely found in freshwater areas, such as slow flowing rivers or big lakes, prefferably with dense jungles surrounding them. Female baryonyx are brown with yellow spots on their sides.Baryonyx moves elegantly through the water, its tail beeing reminescent to a croc one,  propels the spinosaur through the ater and it is a very very good swimmer. It has been noted by research taken on la cinquo muertes (mostly on isla sorna and  site E were baryonyx are present) that at one time in the year, when herds of hadrosaurs migrate from one side of the island to the other side, baryonyx  often wait in the river that run through the islands for these herds to attack from the water, This behaviour is exclusive to baryonyx and spinosaurus. this is one of the few occasions that baryonyx has been reported to actvely hunt big game prey, usually it feeds on big fish and smaller dinosaurs like small hypsilophodonts that are commonly found on all the island. Finding baryonyx in the wild is very difficult as  it is a very stealthy animal . A closer investigation undertaken by inGen scientists which were escorted by professional hunters couldnt find a single baryonyx on site e although signs of their existence was all over the place. Baryonyx can stay underwater for a long period of time and thanks to it high nostril positon, it can lurk in the water without beeing noticed and still be able to breather. its behavior has been described by keepers as very crocodile like. The large claws are fearsome weapons and baryonyx is anything than an easy opponent, it has been seen defending carcasses and prey against other predators with  a lot of tenacity. InGen files show that in one case, a single baryonyx fended off a whole group of raptors that apparently tried to steal its eggs. Baryonyx emits a very "discomforting sounding" scream as  described by keppers. Files show that this predator was set to have been included in the first park, but its enclosure wasnt ready yet. In2001, reports became public of  a strange possible baryonyx/spinosaurus hybrid that has  been encountered in the 2001 incidence, however InGen havent done a statement regarding this sighting
