Hyaenodon sp.

The finished picture. This is hyaenodon sp, the european hyaenodon. As said i used a reference for the head,the rest of the animal was drawn out of my head. Hyaenodon was a very succesful creodon a group of carnivorous mammaly that was later replaced by our modern carnivora species. big creodonts were very strong but they werent as intelligent as our modern carnivores. Hyaenodon was the most succesful and one of the last creodonts, its speed, strong razor like jaws and teeth and its strenght gave it the ability to be an apex predator. It lived in many parts of the world and while the smaller species of hyaenodon were replaced by other carnivores, like bear dogs, there was one species that could even kill a bear dog-Hyaenodon gigas. H.gigas was a true monster, 3,5 metres long and 500 kg heavyit was the top predator of its time and even the beardogs probably had to refuse if one of those giants came by. Hyaenodon sp however was a smaler species and lived in europe. It is my favourite prehistoric mammal.
